2014
Who We Are
Nature Calls is locally owned and operated by Matt and Seth. We both moved to Hayward in 2014 and met each other as co-workers and quickly became friends.
After many backyard campfires and camping adventures we decided to do something outside our career fields and build the ultimate hometown campground.
2023
Passion Project
Armed with nothing but determination and countless walks through the woods, we put together a rough sketch in mspaint and secured our zoning.
2023
Engineers are Friends
With zoning secured we approached engineers to make something more official, I think they did a pretty good job!
2023
Breaking Ground
With licensing out of the way, we broke ground on what would become a three year effort to construct! Summer 2023 was dominated by clearing and grubbing.
2024
Roads
With trees, rocks, and stumps out of the way, 2024 saw more activity with the buildup of roads. Its a long way back into the woods, but we knew it would pay off to set back deep in the woods and away from the highway noise! For the first time, we could get vehicles back into the woods!
2025
Utilities
2025 has been dominated with the installation of the full hookup utilities! I’m even told that our septic system rivals that of a small town! The sheer amount of work that was put in by everyone has been astronomical. But I think we succeeded in making one of the most beautiful campgrounds Wisconsin has to offer!
The future
A dream in the making
Matt and Seth are passionate about camping, and we dont plan to stop when the doors open. WIth 58 beautiful acres, there is a lot more room to build an even better camping experience. So stop by, spend a weekend with us, and catch us around the campfire!
